Back in the glorious days of Teen Titans, Beast Boy could turn into prehistoric animals like mammoths, giant apes and dinosaurs, which were undoubtedly his most powerful transformations .
Why tin can't Garfield Logan from Young Justice practise the same? Does he need to look and examine an animal before he can turn into 1? We saw him transform into alien animals before and so will he learn how to transform into dinosaurs later on this season?

I believe Miss Martian and Manhunter can plow into anything imaginable because they are intuitively able to develop organs, tissues and modifications that permit their forms to part. Beast boy is limited int hat aspect and so maybe he could turn into dinosaurs and other creatures if he knew more nearly them. Maybe its actually impossible to turn into dinosaurs considering they can't alive in the surroundings of today. The earth climate and atmosphere millions of years ago was quite different so what it is today.
